Mountain Print
Artist Statement
My goals for this artwork were to create a vivid and abstract version of the mountains my family and I hike in Maine each year. I accomplished this by making each section have different patterns and colors. The most difficult thing I had to face was remembering which spot was which color and what parts I needed to keep and cut away. I met this challenge by labeling each of the sections of the mountains the shapes and colors I wanted them to be. Some things I have learned are creating difficult prints and blending colors together so that they all work and stand out by themselves. If I had a do-over I would add more color because I originally wanted each section to have different colors, but I ran out of time and wasn't able to.
